Bills and Subscription Tracker Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

Bills and Subscription Tracker helps you track bills and subscriptions on your own devices. There is no Evorts account and no Evorts server holding your data. This policy supplements the general Evorts privacy policy and describes exactly how the app handles your information.

Your data lives in your cloud, not ours

Everything you enter, such as bills, subscriptions, amounts, due dates, notes, and attached photos and PDFs, is stored on your device. When you turn on sync, that data is copied to your own iCloud or Google Drive account so it can move between your devices:

  • Evorts has no servers that receive, store, or can read your data;
  • your synced data lives in your personal iCloud or Google Drive, under your control and governed by Apple’s or Google’s terms;
  • nothing is ever sold, shared with data brokers, or used to train models.

If you never turn on sync, your data never leaves the device at all. Exchange-rate lookups, described below, contain no data about you or your bills.

iCloud sync (iPhone, iPad, and Mac)

On iPhone, iPad, and the Mac App Store version on Mac, sync can use iCloud. The app keeps its data in CloudKit’s private database, inside the app’s own iCloud container, under the Apple ID your device is signed in to, so there’s no separate sign-in. Like everything the app syncs, your data is encrypted on your device before it reaches iCloud (see below), so Apple can’t read it either. The synced data counts toward your iCloud storage, and Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy apply.

Your sync key can also travel in iCloud Keychain, which Apple encrypts end to end. That lets a new iPhone, iPad, or Mac signed in to the same Apple ID start syncing without approval from another device.

You use one sync service for all your devices. iCloud works only between Apple devices, so if you also use Android, Windows, or Linux, all your devices sync through Google Drive instead.

Google Drive sync (Android, Windows, Linux, and mixed devices)

Android, Windows, and Linux devices sync through Google Drive, and so does anyone who uses Apple devices alongside them. If you connect Google Drive, the app signs in with your Google account and keeps its data in a hidden app-data folder in your own Drive. That folder doesn’t appear among your files, and other apps can’t open it. The app requests only the access it needs to read and write its own files, and it does not read the rest of your Drive. You can disconnect at any time inside the app, or revoke access from your Google Account permissions.

Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Encrypted before it leaves your device

Everything the app syncs, such as bills, settings, photos, and PDFs, is encrypted on your device before it is uploaded to iCloud or Google Drive, with a sync key that only your own devices hold. Apple and Google store it but cannot read it, and Evorts never sees the key or your data.

Apple or Google can see only that encrypted files exist, how many there are, their sizes, and when they were uploaded. They cannot see what the files contain, their names or file types, or which bill a file belongs to.

The app shows you a recovery code once. It can restore your sync key on a new device, so keep it somewhere safe. Evorts never sees the key or the recovery code, which also means we can’t recover them for you.

Photos and PDFs

You can attach photos and PDFs, such as invoices, receipts, or proof of payment, to a payment date.

  • The app uses your camera or photo library only when you tap Take photo or Choose, through your device’s own camera or picker.
  • Photos are made smaller on your device before they are kept, which also removes their location and camera details.
  • On iPhone, iPad, Android, and Mac, attached files are kept in the app’s encrypted database on your device.
  • With sync on, each file is encrypted on your device with your sync key (AES-256-GCM) before it goes to iCloud or to the hidden app-data folder in your Google Drive. Apple, Google, and Evorts cannot read it.
  • Deleting a payment or a bill deletes its attachments. Once nothing uses a file any more, its synced copy in iCloud or Google Drive is removed after a day.

Exchange rates

To convert between currencies, the app fetches the European Central Bank’s exchange rates from the Frankfurter service at api.frankfurter.dev. The request contains only currency codes, never your bills, amounts, or anything about you. As with any request on the internet, the service can see your device’s IP address.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device. Working out when to alert you happens on the device. No reminder or schedule data is sent to Evorts.

Backups

You can export a backup file, optionally protected with a passphrase, and choose whether it includes your attachments. Without a passphrase, anyone who gets the file can read everything in it, photos included, so keep unprotected backups somewhere safe. A photo you save with Save a copy becomes an ordinary file on your device, outside the app’s encryption.

Feedback

The Feedback button in the app opens our feedback form in your browser. The link includes the app’s name, version, and platform (for example, iOS), so the form knows which app you’re writing about. It contains no personal data and nothing from your bills. What you then enter in the form is handled as described in the general privacy policy.

What we don’t collect

  • No Evorts account, email, or sign-up.
  • No advertising, no ad identifiers, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
  • No in-app analytics tied to your bills, amounts, or spending.

If you consent to crash diagnostics via Apple’s or Google’s system prompt, those reports are anonymized and never include your bills, amounts, or notes — see the general policy.

Payments

Bills and Subscription Tracker is a paid app. Your purchase is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Evorts never receives or stores your payment details, and the app sends nothing about your purchase to Evorts.

Deleting your data

Your data is yours to remove at any time:

  • delete individual items inside the app; deleting a payment or bill also deletes its attachments;
  • turn off sync in the app, then remove the synced copy from your cloud:
    • on iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Storage (or Manage Account Storage), choose Bills and Subscription Tracker, and tap Delete Data from iCloud;
    • on a Mac, go to System Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage, choose Bills and Subscription Tracker, and click Delete from iCloud;
    • in Google Drive, the files are in the hidden app-data folder: open Google Drive on the web, go to Settings → Manage apps, find Bills and Subscription Tracker, and choose Options → Delete hidden app data;
  • delete the app to erase everything it stored on that device.

Because we hold nothing on our side, there is no server-side copy to request or delete. Backups you exported and copies you saved are your own files; delete them like any other file.
